CESA #1 Teachers of the Blind and Visually Impaired have expertise in a wide range of services including evaluation, development of program plans, consultative services, and acquisition of materials appropriate to the student. Vision teachers also provide direct instruction including, but not limited to: Braille, low vision devices, abacus, daily living skills, Nemeth code, and other technology training. Consultation with schools may include modifications to the environment, adaptations of materials, and disability-specific methodologies. (Indicators 1, 3, 5 & 6)
