Coaching
The Institute provides customized coaching services centered on learner-centered practices for districts, schools, or teams. I4PL coaches get to know individual educators or small teams and provide continual support over the course of several months and sessions. Coaches:
- Serve as a critical link between the Institute for Personalized Learning and the school or district’s personalized learning team
- Encourage networking and resource-sharing with other districts and schools involved in the work
- Provide ongoing, embedded opportunities for personalized professional learning
- Serve as a critical friend, scout, and guidepost
- Participate in other activities based on each team’s needs, such as:
- Attending planning meetings
- Classroom visits/observations and follow-up conversations
- Periodic check-ins via phone, email, video-conferencing, etc.
- Participate in PLC meetings
Consulting
The Institute provides customized consulting services centered on personalized learning for leadership groups within a district, school, or team. A skilled Institute facilitator will guide your group in discussing the issues, successes, and next steps needed in your personalized learning plan. Consulting provides advice and joint problem-solving opportunities with your core team. The Institute’s consulting services are available in half-day or full-day segments and may include:
- Measuring readiness, progress and/or data collection
- Organizational change management
- Developing strategies to initiate and sustain the work
- Implementation and scaling analysis and support
- Technology audit/analysis
- Supporting leaders as they develop, refine and reflect on a plan to personalize learning for students
- Supporting educators in turning personalized learning concepts/elements into practices that enhance student learning
- Site visits and program evaluations
Customized Professional Learning
Institute staff will share content and facilitate customized professional learning for your district. Examples of sessions include:
- Designing learner-centered experiences
- Deep dive into standards of focus and development of learning continuums
- Competency-Based Learning
- Designing flexible learning spaces
- Personalizing professional learning for educators
- Developing and utilizing tools to get started with the core components
- Leading change and maintaining momentum
- Strategies to move learners along the learner independence continuum
- Data collection -- how you know it’s working
- Understanding the shifts in educator and learner roles
- Communication and messaging strategies
- Universal Design for Learning and Personalized Learning
Speaking Engagements
Staff at the Institute for Personalized Learning are passionate about what we do, and love the opportunity to spread the word and engage new audiences in the work of meeting each learner where they are, with what they need, when they need it.
We are available to speak at a variety of events, including keynote presentations, and we will work with the client to tailor our message to the readiness level of the expected audience.
