In an effort to support educators who are implementing learner-centered practices in their classrooms, we are offering a variety of face-to-face workshops, online offerings, cohort and virtual experiences that focus on a wide range of topics that educators can use to deepen their understanding of learner-centered practice. This collection of professional learning opportunities is designed to kickstart efforts to implement learner-centered practices based on the Institute’s framework-the Honeycomb Model. Each session will provide an overview of the “why” and “what” behind a specific element and take a deeper dive into HOW educators can bring the practice to life in unique contexts.
Sessions are offered in a variety of learning formats such as:
Live (4 hours): Workshops that are facilitated by a professional development specialist, either virtually or in-person. Participants will interact with peers and explore topics specific to personalized learning. Minimum and maximum enrollment limits apply. Enrollment closes 7 days prior to the start date.
Self-Paced (4 hours): Asynchronous, four-hour courses that provide time for reflection on, and application of, specific instructional practices, strategies and frameworks. Enrollment is rolling due to the self-paced nature of the course.
Hybrid (4 hours + work time): A combination of live and self-paced experiences. Participants will meet virtually with a professional development specialist for four, one-hour sessions, and then work independently in between meetings to complete module work. Professional development specialists are available via email throughout the course to support participants.
