Increased achievement for all students is dependent upon solid universal classroom learning structures. Co-teaching is one collaborative structure that supports the successful incorporation of diverse student populations into our classrooms. Co-teaching promotes shared responsibilities in the areas of co-planning, co-instructing, and co-assessment between two or more educators.
Topics that can be addressed include:
- Developing, assessing, and sustaining co-teaching practices at the district and building levels
- Implementing a variety of co-teaching role options
- Developing a co-teaching vision between partners and planning as co-teaching partners
- Considering how to efficiently develop co-teaching schedules
CESA #1 provides different levels of professional development and support.
Coaching is recommended to support district awareness and implementation.
