License Expansion

Add a Level / Add a Related License

This option is for candidates who hold a Wisconsin teaching license and are looking to extend their current grade level or add a related license.

Successful completion of license requirements leads to earning an additional license. If you hold:

  • Elementary or Regular Education (1777) ---> ADD Elementary/Middle Education K-9 (2088)
  • Broadfield Science, Chemistry, Biology, Earth/Space, Physics ---> ADD Science (2600)
  • Cross Categorical Special Education (MC-EA or EA/A) (1801) ---> ADD Cross Categorical Special Education K-12 (2801)
  • Cross Categorical Special Education (1801) ---> ADD Early Childhood Special Education (1809)
  • Early Childhood Special Education (1809) ---> ADD Cross Categorical Special Education (2801) 
  • Instrumental (1506), Choral (1511), General Music (1515) ---> ADD Music All K-12 (2500)
  • Broadfield Science, Chemistry, Biology, Earth/Space, Physics ---> ADD General Science (2600)
  • Cross Categorical Special Education (MC-EA or EA/A) (1801) ---> ADD Cross Categorical Special Education K-12 (2801)

Licensure Requirements

  • Portfolio(s)
  • Classroom Observation Assessments
  • Classroom Support Visits
  • Content Knowledge Assessment
  • Weekly online modules that focus on pedagogy
  • Supplemental Grade Band Experience
    • Candidates will be expected to have some teaching experience in all levels of their license.
