School District Resources

Youth Apprenticeships help prepare students for life after high school.
YA programs integrate school-based and work-based learning to provide students in their junior and senior years with academic and occupational skills leading to both a high school diploma and a Certificate of Occupational Proficiency in a specific industry. Students continue toward high school graduation and take courses related to their apprenticeship as a way of enhancing what is being learned on the job.

Why Participate in a YA Program?
Experience - Students gain hands-on experience in real-world settings, giving them a head start on their career goals.
Student Engagement - Making connections between what is learned in the classroom and how it applies in real life increases engagement and confidence.
Opportunities - Supports college AND career by providing opportunities for all students.
Community Engagement - Build positive relationships with local organizations.
District Goals - Supports your Academic & Career Planning (ACP) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) goals.

School-Based Coordinator Role
The school-based coordinator is the on-the-ground YA contact at the high school, ensuring students are recruited, enrolled in the right courses, and supported throughout their apprenticeship. They bridge communication between the school, consortium, employers, parents, and students, making sure each youth apprentice stays on track for both graduation and successful program completion.
