CESA #1 hires quality Speech/Language Pathologists, including those completing their clinical fellowship year (CFY), who are assigned to specific programs, districts, or work on an itinerant basis. CESA #1 will provide the necessary supervision for CFY completion. Pathologists provide services to students with communication disorders in the area of understanding and expressing language (relative to vocabulary, grammatical rule structures and functional use of language), as well as the development of sounds, appropriate voice quality, and fluency. These individuals help the school teams understand the link between language and curriculum. They also provide comprehensive diagnostic services including assessments, evaluations, and final reports.
