ACCESS for ELLs Test Administration (with students)

ACCESS for ELLs )Assessing Comprehension and Communicationin English State-to-State for English Language Learners) is required annually to determine English proficiency levels and progress of ELLs in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. CESA #1 can complete all of your ACCESS for ELLs test administration.

ACCESS for ELLs Test Administrator Training

ACCESS for ELLs (Assessing Comprehension and Communication in English State-to-State for English Language Learners) is required annually to determine English proficiency levels and progress of ELLs in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. CESA #1 offers test administrator certification training.

Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse - WATODEN Network

The Wisconsin Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drug Education Network (WATODEN) serves all 45 school districts in the CESA #1 region.

Grades 6-12 - ELL Newcomer Center

The ELL Newcomer Center is designed to meet the specialized needs of newly arrived ELLs in grades 9 – 12 with low English proficiency and/or limited formal schooling.

Grades 7-12 Expelled/Expellable Students

Fresh Start is a placement and services for students with disabilities or regular education students, who are expelled or may be expelled.

Assessment for Paraprofessionals

CESA #1 offers a two-part assessment that districts may use to decide whether or not a paraprofessional is highly qualified.

At-Risk Student Consultant/Teacher

CESA #1 provides an experienced Alternative Education consultant/teacher to provide direct instruction to students or consultation for school staff regarding the most effective strategies to support this student population.

Bilingual Interpreter/Translation Services

Experienced bilingual interpreters are available to translate for Individualized Education Plan (IEP) meetings, parent conferences, and other face-to-face situations.

Blended Learning Consortium

The Blended Learning Consortium supports CESA #1 districs as they infuse blended learning into their current educational structures and prepare students for innovative learning opportunities. Educator Effectiveness Evaluation System

The Institute @ CESA #1 has designed the Educator Effectiveness Evaluation System (EEES) to provide services to districts in the area of educator quality. The EEES is a proficiency-based evaluation system that enables educators to develop effective strategies and interventions to meet the needs of all learners and prepare digital-age learners for our rapidly changing world.

ELL Itinerant Teacher Services

CESA #1 provides high-quality certified English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers are assigned to specific schools or districts or work on an itinerant basis.

ELL Network

The English Language Learner (ELL) Network provides teachers, coordinators and other staff members working with English Language Learners an opportunity to share ideas and concerns, and develop new approaches and solutions for working with ELLs.

ELL Professional Development and Technical Assistance

CESA #1 provides an experienced English Language Learner (ELL) consultant who can deliver professional development and technical assistance for district and school staff designed to increase academic achievement and English proficiency in students with ELL needs.

ESEA Network

The ESEA Network of district leaders meets monthly and provides state and federal updates and sharing opportunities.

Gifted and Talented Support (TAG)

CESA #1 provides consulting services to enhance a district's Gifted and Talented program, as well as a lending library that includes a wide-spectrum of materials focusing on related topics.

Institute Membership

Through Institute Membership, districts that are implementing personalized learning initiatives can collaborate and gain access to critical support mechanism to further their progress. Membership includes workshops, consulting, electronic newsletters, and access to a virtual conference center to stay connected with other district teams in the region.

License Conversion from Grade Levels (PI 3) to Developmental Level (PI 34)

CESA #1 provides participants with violence prevention and crisis intervention techniques, developed by the Crisis Prevention Institute.

The conflict mediation Ombudsperson works within an advisory capacity to provide services for inter-district transfer students in support of exchange programs.

Online Learning Certification for Educators

CESA #1 offers one day to 10-week workshops in an online classroom to meet the DPI 30 hours requirement for teachers who use online resources with students in grades 6-12.

PI 34 - License Renewal Support Center

The License Renewal Support Center offers a variety of services to support school districts, schools, and educators in meeting licensure requirements under PI-34.

Praxis I (PPST) and Praxis II Assessment Support

CESA #1 offers support and practice sessions for Praxis exams.

Proficiency-Based Licensure

Proficiency-Based Licensure (PBL) is an alternative certification program for individuals interested in obtaining Wisconsin initial teacher certification. The PBL program also provides an efficient and effective means for currently licensed teachers to expand their certification.

Reading Consultant

Consultants are available to assist schools and districts with the implementation of programs designed to improve students' reading performance.

Resource Teacher

CESA #1 can provide an experienced educator who will support the improvement of student achievement by supplementing basic classroom instruction in the areas of school readiness, reading, writing, and mathematics.

School to Career - Carl Perkins Consortium

Federal allocation grant dollars are pooled by districts to provide school-to-career activities and consultative services.

Trainings are available on various autism issues, including a general overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) with a focus on designing an effective instructional program for students with High Functioning Autism (HFA) or Asperger Syndrome, creating an inclusive classroom, and promoting independence.

SWIS was created by the OSEP Technical Assistance Center on Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) to be a web-based data collection tool to support the data-based decision making of PBIS teams around discipline data.

Student Intervention Monitoring System (SIMS)

The Student Intervention Monitoring System (SIMS) is a web-based program designed to document the interventions and progress monitoring that educators use with their students. The training and support to implement SIMS in a district is included.

Wisconsin Statewide Parent Education Network (WSPEI) - District Parent Liaison Program

The Wisconsin Statewide Parent-Educator Initiative (WSPEI) was designed to assist parents and school districts to work together to provide special education services for children.

Professional Learning - Special Education
Beyond Diversity I Training

Beyond Diversity is a nationally known and presented powerful, personally transforming two-day seminar designed to help teachers, students, parents, and administrators understand the impact of race on student learning and investigate the role that racism plays in institutionalizing academic achievement disparities. Participants engage in a thoughtful, compassionate exploration of race and racism and grapple with how each influences the culture and climate of our schools. Participants practice using strategies for identifying and addressing policies, programs, and practices that negatively impact student of color achievement and serve as barriers for ALL students receiving a world-class education.

Community Advantage Program (CAP)

The CAP is for students with significant disabilities 18-21 and is designed to provide them opportunities to gain independent living skills, transition skills, and functional skills in real-life setting and to have them participate in age-appropriate activities in their communities.  The goal of this program is to provide students a transition-focused program within a community-based environment based on each student’s IEP.

This workshop takes participants through a series of steps on how to start this program.  A discussion around the barriers to implementing this program as well as what is necessary for the success of the program will conclude the workshop.

 

Communication: Do You Hear What I Hear SPE135

This is a workshop designed for District Parent Liaisons, parents, and staff from school districts and agencies.  This workshop will focus on communication basics to help families and school staff to consider each other´s role and to work together collaboratively.

Connecting Common Core Standands & the IEP

This presentation will provide an overview of connecting standards to IEPs to ensure access to the general curriculum for students with disabilities. The information will assist the IEP team in developing a meaningful IEP that incorporates the new Common Core Curriculum, Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards, Wisconsin Extended Grade Band Standards and local district benchmarks to help meet the student’s unique academic learning needs.

The Early Childhood Networking Group meets five (5) times throughout the year.  The meetings focus on early childhood leadership.

Evidence-Based Intervention Practices
Facilitating IEPs: Training for LEA Representatives

The LEA (Local Educational Agency) Representative plays a vital and necessary role on the IEP team. Each IEP team meeting must include a LEA Representative who is:
·         qualified to provide or supervise the provision of special education services, and
·         who is knowledgeable about the general education curriculum, and
·         who is authorized by the district (local education agency) to commit the district resources
This workshop will provide insight into the critical components of the IEP, a deep understanding of the commitment of resources, best practices in IEP meeting facilitation,, consensus building, and conflict resolution.
