Special education program leadership services are available to assist schools and agencies with the delivery of special education services through planning, supervision, and consultation. CESA #1 staff will:
- Provide on-site/virtual professional development for staff (i.e. IEPs for LEAs, CCR-IEPs)
- Provide expert opinion for due process hearings
- Complete federal and state reports
- Formulate and implement policies and procedures for new or revised programs for activities such as screening, placement, education, and training of students
- Coordinate and monitor case management of special needs students
- Provide program evaluation and review to ensure effective and appropriate programming for students
- Assist in the interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations to staff and parents
- Review and monitor local and grant budgets for appropriate distribution of costs
- Contract with agencies for outsourcing needs
- Recruit, hire, and supervise special education staff
