The Proficiency Based Licensure (PBL) program is an educator preparation program, approved by the WI Department of Public Instruction, for individuals interested in obtaining Wisconsin teacher certification. The PBL program helps to fill critical teaching shortages in a variety of educational areas by providing a personalized route to teacher certification for qualified individuals. The PBL program is designed for:
- Teachers of record who have a One Year License with Stipulations and want to obtain provisional WI certification
- Teachers of record who have a license and want to obtain WI certification in a new area or level
- Candidates who are not currently teaching and want to obtain provisional WI certification via a state-approved educator preparation program with a rigorous clinical experience
Our certification areas include: Bilingual/Bicultural Education, Family and Consumer Education, Technology Education, Business Education, World Languages (all), English as a Second Language, Math, Computer Science, Music, Science, Cross-Categorical Special Education (including the Cross-Categorical Special Education K-12 License), Early Childhood Special Education, and Alternative Education.
